YP Lenawee is a non-profit that began with its inaugural meeting in October of 2011. Meredith Francis and Sadie and Cary Carrico began discussions of this group in the summer of 2011. We wanted to create an easy way for young professionals to meet one another and network; a group to help build relationships and connections without obligating its members to spending a lot of money or a lot of time. We felt many young professionals, like us, were already committed to volunteering and supporting other non-profits in the area, working hard as leaders in our own organizations and managing families. We didn't want this group to be one more obligation; we wanted it to be easy and fun to connect. With the down economy and more of our friends moving away from the area, we wanted to take a proactive approach to reinvesting in our own community and connecting the future leaders of this county both socially and professionally.
Helping to build on the sense of community and a good place to raise a family, we felt investing our energies and resources into a young professionals group would be a great step in strengthening and revitalizing Lenawee county as a great place to live and work. The group has been well received and has approximately 40 members and has had about a dozen corporate sponsors. Learn more about membership, find us on Facebook, or join us at an upcoming event!
